Blue Hole Dive Tour

The Great Blue Hole is located at Lighthouse Reef Atoll. It was made famous by Jacques Cousteau who declared it one of the top five scuba dive sites in the world. The hole is 1,043 feet across and 407 feet deep. It is part of the larger Barrier Reef System, a World Heritage Site of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The boat ride is approximately 2 hours across the deep blue, passing the Turneffe Islands.

You can expect to see a range of marine life and colorful corals. This is one of the best areas to dive.

Breakfast is provided at the dive shop. Divers must be at the dive shop at 5:30 a.m. The boat leaves at 6 a.m. and we return by 4 p.m. Each dive has one hour of surface interval. Lunch is provided onboard. We also visit Half Moon Caye to check out the red-footed boobie birds.

Blue Wave Divers is introducing an Overnight Scuba Diving Tour, on board our 38 foot boat. There are many dive sites in the Turneffe atoll and Lighthouse Reef atoll area and on every trip we will be visiting different sites. Local Belize Barrier Reef

The Barrier Reef is the second largest coral reef system in the world and runs the entire length of the country of Belize. The reef is 1 mile away from Caye Caulker, so most of the closer dive sites are just a few minutes away. If you don’t want to spend all day on the water and a long boat trip, then the below sites are right for you. Local Reef is a half day tour.

Trip includes 2 Dives.

• First Dive: Local Reef
• Depth of 75 feet for certified divers.
• Wall dive & marine wildlife
• Bottom time of 20 minutes and 50 minutes total dive time.

• Second Dive: Local Reef
• Depth of 60 feet.

The dive sites around Caye Chapel South are all coral canyon formations. Dive sites that we visit in this area are Tunnels, Cathedral Canyons, and Raggedy Anne. These are just a few of many dive sites just south of Caye Caulker.

We visit these dive sites for Caye Chapel Tours or when doing open water 3 & 4 dives during the Padi open water course. These dive sites start at a depth of 40 feet and dive to 65 feet.

Esmeralda is approximately half an hour boat ride from Caye Caulker. Here you will see lots of marine life, including reef and nurse sharks, as it is part of the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, the oldest reserve in Belize.

Tackle Box

This dive site is directly in front of Ambergris Caye. This site has plenty of swim throughs and you will also see lots of marine life.

Esmeralda Wall Lots of marine life including sharks, eels, and sea turtles.

We visit these dive sites for certified Esmeralda Tour Divers as well as, open water students doing Open Water 3 & 4 dives during the Padi open water course. These dive sites start at a depth of 40 feet and dive to 75 feet.

Esmeralda Trip includes 2 Dives.

• Depth of 75 feet for certified divers.

• Second Dive: Esmeralda Wall

The dive sites around Spanish Bay consist of sandy drop offs, swim throughs, wall dives and canyon formations.

Dive sites that we visit in this area are Ski Slope, Middway Canyon, and Gallows Point. Sometimes we tend to get lucky and see dolphins and manatees.

The night dive site is one dive, conducted in a maximum of 30 feet of water with clear visability and minimal current. Enjoy the night shift of the sea creatures, and see wildlife you don't see during the daytime.
